I really dont understand why some people rate him so highly.
Yes, he is a good shotstopper in the main (although he has made several errors with shots he should have saved - for example at Wolves and Charlton to name just 2)
Yes, he is an International keeper - but his last full appearance was 2004.
He has many weaknesses in his game - he has no command of his back four or his area, no urgencey and cannot kick the ball for toffee. If we can get a good fee for him then we should take it for sure.
So what next? Well long term we have two good keepers coming through in Rudd and Steer. I think Rudd will be more than capable of being number 2 next year and should be challenging for number 1. However I feel we need to bring in an experienced keeper to challenge/ support Rudd - my vote would be Tony Warner.
Finally, I dont wish Marshall any harm but at the end of the day was a mainstay of the team that got us relegated and feel no particular affection towards the man.
