he did eventually up his bid to what they wanted, but by then Brum were in the middle of their own defensive crisis and were having to play him in their first team

as for the Iverson saga, as far as i remember Roeder was constantly banging on about his club not keeping to promises made to Iverson himself - perhaps if we'd offered them as much as Man City offered for Kaka then maybe they could've been persuaded - but otherwise they said he was never for sale
