The events of yesterday will inspire my latest book.

A night of wild celebration in Munich ends in tragedy for a 20 year old Norfolk man who is struck by an Opel Kadet whilst attempting to retrieve his Goss wig from the middle of a busy autobahn.

He spends 15 years in a coma and 'Bayern' absolute miracle is only brought out of it after a nurse leaves her MP3 player on full blast whilst listening to 'Eye of the Tiger' and changing his drip.

He awakens to the expectation of a full trophy cabinet and a full-English only to be told that the club has slid down to the old third division and that Peter Mendham is no longer welcome at the club (some detail was held back by the consultant).

What follows for him is a battle to deal with the mountain of direct mail delivered to his Thorpe flat, the destruction of the wig by German authorities and the notion that just like himself, the club had to learn to walk again. Although he really only has a slight limp.

'I can't believe this has happened to me and my club' is published by Penguin Books at ?17.99 although by his won admission the author feels that money has ruined the book industry.
