Neil,
I'm writing following our disgraceful defeat at the Valley this afternoon, confirming our relegation to League One.
Frankly, I'm absolutely appauled that on an afternoon where we needed victory, we performed as poorly as we did. Someone on the board (Mr Munby, if I remember right) once said after sacking Glenn Roeder - ironically after defeat to Charlton - that we looked like "lambs to the slaughter". Unfortunately, you don't seem to have addressed this worrying characteristic - only fostered it to bring us to the point we're at today.
Bryan Gunn must not be allowed to continue as manager. We must find a manager who knows league one and can install a bit of steel. We need rebuilding from the ground up, including changes at board room level. I appreciate that this club does not have the sort of financial backing, but the money we do have appears squandered by a series of very poor decisions by you and your fellow board members. It's imperative new blood is brought into this club at board level, including someone with footballing experience and someone representing the fans. Only then can fans really trust this club's board to make a competant managerial appointment.
The state this club has reached is a complete disgrace. You must take action, and immediately.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this mail.
Kind regards
