Personally, I think you're missing what's going on in football

as with the premiership in the early 90s, we're getting relegated at precisely the worst time.

We never recovered from that one, and I doubt we'll recover from this one, either. (Especially given the debts we're taking down with us.)

Very much hope I'm wrong, obviously.
