I love technology, but I only love it when it's reasonable

in that sense, I stay about 5-10 years behind and upgrade accordingly :)

Doing that, when things break, they're easily replaceable at the level you had, or you can go one level about (8 years behind technology), and then get excited by a basic feature, of which your mates will go "yeah, we all know about that, where the f**k have you been?"
