I really don't understand this obsession with Archant and the 'quality' of their

journalism.

It's like they are supposed to be this grand old doyen of the newspaper publishing world. They publish things like the Wymondham and Attleborough Mercury and the Stowmarket Advertiser, as well as their leading flagship titles for Norfolk, the EDP an Evening News.

Since when were these revered as vehicles for top-notch writing?

I know that in the early 90's the EDP was the largest circulation local daily after the Liverpool Echo or something - but circulation does not equate to quality journalism.
