"Football is pricier, more uncompetitive and less atmospheric than ever" is factually incorrect. The premiers**t may be, but that isn't the same as "football". I'm rather too busy getting ready to go to a match tomorrow to spend any time reading an article that starts with such a basic mistake. And incidentally, I'm going to a match in a league where perhaps 16 teams have a shot at going up. And where, despite the absence of more than a thousand City fans who went there last season, the atmosphere will be a bloody sight better than it was for the equivalent fixture 10 or 20 years ago.
