with hindsight i agree, at the time though i'd have said it was the right thing to at

least give him a shot at getting us back up again

that said (and again this maybe hindsight talking on my part) the squad of players we came down with should have been held together as much as possible and when it wasn't, that's when alarm bells should have started ringing
