where our left back was an everton youngster, doherty was out of form, Flem was long on his last legs, and the whole Colin, Louis Jean and eventually Hughes playing right back thing wasn't a good situation in the slightest
Added to that was all the other dead wood in the team, Robinson, Jarrett, an Etuhu who was showing flashes of coming good, but not often enough.
And like many say, having Thorne up front on a lot of money wasn't helping anyone, leaving only Earnshaw as the supply line for goals, with a formation that was lumping long balls up to him
That and relying on Huckerby to reproduce everything he did 2003/04 around a squad of players no where near as good enough to support him
Oh, and Gallagher wasn't much kop in goal
That's why I'm always on the negative side of Worthingtons legacy, because that's what he left us with
