Hows this for a controversial theory:

Southhampton were on the brink of signing Morrison. So in an attempt to scupper there chances and prevent Morrison scoring against us on Saturday Worthy takes the unusual step of agreeing a fee and keeping Morrison busy today so he can't sign for Southampton in time to play against us.
