I understand the club would not have had to break the bank for this to happen and the cost would have come to little more than 10-20 of the 17,000-plus season tickets snapped up by our fans for next season.

It seems the club's sorry financial state left them unwilling to meet this cost - a real shame, as it could have been a thank you to fans who have had to put up with so much misery recently."
