They shoot game birds in the field behind my house. Lucrative business apparently, even in these times of savage economic downturn. It supports many decent country folk in our fair county and beyond I should imagine. Good luck to them. The decent ones.
I suppose it is crucial that they protect the birds they rear from attack from Foxes as the Fox population has been on the rise in recent years. I do wish though that they wouldn't resort to using traps as my wifes moggy has just had 500 quids worth of reconstructive surgery on its leg as a result of this. Probably cost iro of another 500 quid before we are finished and that according to the vet is if the leg actually does recover, if not it will need to be lopped off.
The money is the last of my concerns though, the suffering the poor animal went through having its leg smashed and the flesh ripped off to the ankle must have been agonising and also, my wife is extremely upset.
I am flying home on Monday and I will scour that field by the square inch and should I find a trap, expect to find my rugged good looks on page one of the EDP.
Motherf**kers.
