what happened was -

- Trulli slid off under the safety car
- Hamilton had no choice but to pass him
- But it's illegal to overtake under the safety car
- Maclaren, knowing that the FIA nail them at every possible opportunity, told Hamilton to let Trulli go past him again
- Race stewards saw this and penalised Trulli - quite harshly - for overtaking under the safety car
- FIA have indeed seized on this as their first opportunity (but not the last) of the season to nail Maclaren, and so have stripped Hamilton of all points gained.
