Help! Car problems - how much should I pay for diagnostics?

My car's engine management warning light has come on (it's a Fiat Punto).

I'm going to get someone to run some diagnostics, and then fix it myself, the thing is I don't know how much I should pay for it. I've seen one place that will do it for ?29.99, is that a good deal?

This is such a nightmare, I'm getting a new car in 6 weeks time, but in order to get a good price for this one I still need to get it fixed.
