Don't under-estimate the role Butts and Crooky have played in the recent "tough decisions". They are the key figures in the management trio (though Gunn, undoubtably, is the key figurehead).

Fulham bid ?2m for Clingan. Norwich wanted ?2.5m. He will go in the summer - likelihood around ?2.2m. Thats fine on me if it helps to purchase some of these loan players on permanent basis.
