I'm not much of a Sigur Ros fan either...

Mulling over our little debate on the way home, I think your original statement was correct. Most music genres do have something to like (and an awful lot of dross too). Prog (& Jazz) I really do struggle with, though for the reasons I mention. Maybe we shouldn't categorise and pigeon hole so much.

Interestingly, I'm told that Swedish Prog was very political, which is a result of time and place I guess; but since I don't understand the words it's much of muchness to me.
