It was a musical form going nowhere except up it's own arse right from the start. Maybe they all do once they reach a certain popularity; but seems to me that it had a shorter shelf life than most...

Of course, you're right, it's subjective; but the biggest argument against it is that my brother likes it (or used to) and he's a Christian.
