You can't criticise them for their choice of managers, but then argue that the managers were actually decent choices.

Personally I go with the former. They chose crap managers. But that does mean recognising that Grant and Roeder were both incompetent, which I don't think you do.

So you ought to have *more* sympathy with the board than me, not the other way around.
