We all knew we needed a striker, we went for Iversen all summer, teetering around on a small transfer, because the board wouldn't pay silly money for him
Yet, having said that, on the grounds of Roeder keeping us up, he assumed he'd get the players he wanted. The saga went on, he didn't get the player he wanted, or Helguson, so the transfer window passed and in an emergency, who do we get?
Carl Cort
I know many will say that Roeder signed players and is responsible for the budget he's given. I'm saying there's a reason why we are in this mess
Next season Gunn will be in EXACTLY the same position, players like Mooney won't be here, we'll probably sell Croft and Clingan, and the squad will be 2 perm players short, and many loan players who we've come to accept as our own short
And when he doesn't deliver on the pitch under such ridiculous pressure, he'll probably be made out to be s**t at his job
Then we'll let him go, Doncaster et all will do piece in the paper about how it really hurts and familes are involved, and we'll employ another manager, who may or may not keep us up, with loan players who'll we get to feel like our own etc etc
Each time this happens, the board will never be accountable
This is why other teams spend less than us and do better, because they keep a manager in charge, even if there's restraints to his budget, they keep someone in a job, and when that manager signs a player, he isn't told another needs selling to get more, they are kept. Then over a few years the same manager builds a side, a plan you could say
Fuck me, Norwich actually having a plan would be a start
