Magpies kill songbirds, and I like songbirds.

It's just homo sapiens exercising his prejudices. We will some things in order to benefit other things. Like weeding a garden: I like flowers, therefore I kill weeds. I like songbirds, therefore I kill the odd magpie (and indeed the odd hooded crow when north of the border).
