Yeah, they did

because their users dropped and advertising suffered. One or two big ones in AmericA still do it and some of the more specialised journals and mags do it. I think one day they'll all get together and do it together.

Trouble is, people want to be able to Google and go on several websites...without having to register and pay for them all. Dunno, it's difficult and not easy to see an answer that will work.
