Well it sort of does, but not as much now.

The money, and craze of rich people buying clubs as toys has damage that. Football was a cycle back in the day, for most clubs. Even the big boys has times well out of contention.

Used to be if you found a couple of bargains, got a couple of decent kids through (maybe from wales/Ireland/Potters Bar like we used to be able to do) you could suddenly have a bit of surge.

These days, that's next to bloody impossible.
We'll be back though at some point, and when we do it'll all be worthwhile.
