we don't seem to have the guts to fight for safety

The other clubs are fighting for survival, and getting points.

we are told that we needed to win 7 games form the last 13 ( now 11) but we had won 8 from 23, (now 25) and we have used up 2 more home games to win them.

I'm not sure if the players are:
a] rubbish
b] lazy and don't care
