"I don't think Roeder could stand being less popular than a player"

if popularity was all he was interested in he shouldn't have been such a c**t then should he?

i think it was more to do with Roeder trying to show that he knew better than all the fans/pundits that were demanding Hucks was a constant in the team even though we did most of last year's great escape when he wasn't playing
