Lots of very good ideas. But you watch those players every week - they were unhappy. They didnt like Roeder. I listened to four ex-players still close to the club earlier today. They weren't being diplomatic. They made their opinions very loud and clear on the previous regime.
And yep, its easy to respond to that by saying, "well, nothing has changed, look at the results". You have to give it time to steady the ship, to start the players believing again. Just as it was such a difficult job post-Grant.
Sacking a manager that did parts of his job well is never going to have a great effect on a club medium-term. Doesnt mean it still wasnt the right decision though.
