Also, being in the Academy system made the set up more attractive, it gives the club an edge over others when trying to attract talent in.
Unlike us,the kids out there rarely have a burning desire to join NCFC.
Also being in the system means our lads got to play agaisnt the best teams in the country, which was a bonus to their development.
They would get more out of playing Manure, Arsenal, Chelski etc kids each week, than Grays, Colchester etc etc.
Of course the premier league made sure that changed, but at the time that cna't have known that would happen.
