West coast, a bit north of Glencoe

June is the best, best time to go. Not many midges around and lowest average rainfall.

I could bore about the joys of the West Highlands for hours. Unless you're a golfer, the west is infinitely more interesting than the east. Great places to base yourself - Tobermory on Mull; Ullapool (stay at the Ceilidh Place); or somewhere along the ten or so miles of coastline south of Mallaig.
