My take on yesterday

Thought i would wait and sleep on it before i posted my views on yesterday so it did seem knee jerk, and after my nine hours nothing seems any better.

Marshall - The man is a joke, cost us far too many times this season. Decent shot stopper, but that is all. Distribution is awful, kicking awful, shakey on crosses, and little command of his box. The two saves he made yesterday are ones that you would expect him to make. Marshall by name, Marshall by nature.

Semi - This lad has all the attributes to be a top player, except for one thing, a brain. Nothing between his ears, has no idea whats going on around him, makes a good run, then stops to let everyone catch him up. Possibly our most frustrating player for me.

Drury - Nothing like the player he once was, very inconsistant. If Bertrand showed half the form of last season he wouldn't get a look in.

Doc - I do love the Doc, always gives his all, and generally you don't get a bad game from him. Does tend to hug the opposition players, which is always a worry. Probably shouldn't have made the challange yesterday, but should never have been put in that situation by his idiot number 1.

Grounds - Not seen enough of him to judge properly, but isn't he now about our third top scorer in the squad?!

Croft - Still no end product really, but works and works, and fights for everything for the team until the death. Wish when he cuts inside he would risk swinging his left at it. I do wonder if perhaps we should stick him on the left (its not like we will miss his crosses) so when he does come inside, its on his stronger foot.

Russel - Lost his hair in the summer, and lost the majority of his ability it seems. Absolute shadow of last season.

Clingan - Decent player, battles well, and seems to have half tidy distribution. Just seems to twist, turn, and run around the ball alot when not needed.

Hoolahan - Don't doubt what he can do with the ball, but its like watching an 8 year old play men, he just gets brushed off too easily. Not what we need now.

Cort - Getting better, looked good to me yesterday. Holds the ball up, wins it in the air. Crying out for someone to play off him though as he's got no pace. And i think if we get some crosses in he may be decent in the box (but thats just a guess!)

Cureton - The man should never pull on a yellow shirt again. Don't doubt his passion and love for the club, but i don't know if he will ever score again, he certainly won't get more than 5. Confidence is shot, and i don't think it will ever return. How we decided to keep him and get rid of Lupoli is madness. Lupoli may have started to be disruptive, but who can blame the guy the treatment he recieved?

Bryan Gunn - I love this man, he is, and always will be my favorite player ever. But i don't think he is the man to save us. Made no substitutions to make any difference yesterday, chasing the game at home, already losing, why did we not go three at the back? If we conceeded again, would it have made a massive difference?

We got four players in the window, and none of them started, why? Why the hell are we sticking with the shower of s**t that got us into this situation? Its not bad luck, its not a blip. The simple fact is that the collection of eleven players (with one or two exceptions) are simply not good enough. Why not play Gow in the middle to give us some attack from there. Drop Cureton like a stone, and give the lad Cody a go, he cannot do any worse than Jamie.

We haven't got to play the teams around us, so we can't pick up points off them, they all have games in hand over us, i am the eternal pessamist, but i think we are doomed. Roeder casued so much damage, Gunn is not the man to save us, and ultimately the team is not good enough.

I pray to God i am wrong
