It's fine. Most programmes seem to have two versions uploaded

one taken from a regular source, and one from an HD source. Obviously the HD ones are really really good image quality, but a much bigger file size.

I play mine on my 38" telly via my xbox, which is playing video streamed over my wifi by my low-ish spec PC via TVersity, and I really can't tell the difference from regular-broadcast TV.
