Actually, if you read the OfCom report (and I did) they didn't really get "done" at all.

My own opinion was that it was a bit disingenuous, but no more than James Hansen predicting 20 feet sea level rises in less than 100 years (when the IPCC worst case scenarios suggest a foot or so)
