Players And Agents.

Sorry, but why the f**k does every player seem to have to have an agent, failing that, as seems to be the case, an entourage?

I can understand the Beckhams. the Owens etc having them, what with their earnings and various off field activities-but someone like Damian Francis?

Can't he, and the vast majority of footballers do this sort of thing for themselves? And, failing that, what the feck is the point of their Union, it should be falling over backwards to help its members out, its a wealthy and growing organisation, but it hardly seems to get involved with anything.

Its not as if the players don't have the time to sort out their financial affairs, they train for half a day, four days a week, is it their "right" to spend the rest of that time at the dog teack, bookies, golf course etc etc etc?

I remember when we were being linked with this young Irish winger at Rochdale a couple of years or so ago, McCort I think his name was, one of the things Worthy said related to "the lads agent"-think on, he was 18,19, played for Rochdale, he had an agent!!!! Ridiculous!

I bet most players, even in League 2 have an agent.

Why? Is it a kudos thing? is it to help them escape from the real world? Is it because they like giving them a large percentage of their earnings for doing bugger all?
