Granted, we can't know what is happening behind the scenes

But surely it's page one of the PR handbook that, at a time of fevered speculation, you don't create an utterly unnecessary news vacuum.

How hard would it have been for Joe to write the following on behalf of Munby at the end of the statement...

"The search for a new management team begins immediately and a further statement will follow as soon as we have something concrete to report". Not rocket science really.

And if they were avoiding announcing a caretaker because they hoped to make a swift appointment, why now announce that a caretaker will be confirmed at 8.45am tomorrow? Why not tell us now?

Ok - there are more important things to worry about, but this is where a PR Manager earns his corn by ensuring that every step on this journey is nailed down. If Radio Norfolk are whinging about the lack of information he is clearly not imposing himself on the situation and thus failing to do his job properly.
