Some of his upfield hoofs gave the ball away

Donk does what he does. He's your basic model, no frills, big bastard championship centre half. So on the plus side: he wins a lot of headers, distracts opposition centre halves if he goes up for corners, clatters opposition forwards, gets rid and generally makes things safe. On the minus side: he will never be a ball-playing distributor, he's got the turning circle of the QE2 and he can be relied upon to give away free kicks in dangerous positions (or even pelanties).

So it's rough with the smooth, but he always tries hard and you just have to accept that we aren't in a position to expect a hoooge amount of quality.
