Tell you what I thought. SWP looked good, the rest didn't really do

anything flashily impressive, but what I think I saw was Fabio Capello successfully combine Italian and English styles.

He had us organised like the Italian teams when Germany had the ball, and breaking like an English team when we won it back.

I think he may well have found the magic formula.

We'll see if the 1st choice players can execute his tactics as well as the backups did last night. If they can't maybe a few of the reserves will get the nod ahead of the superstars. After all, better to have 11 above average players executing their instructions well than 11 extremely skilled headless chickens.
