"Dual core" DOESN'T mean that you can double the quoted speed figure, mores the pity.
It means it's one processing unit, but it appears to the computer as two logically separate processors, both at 1.8Ghz.
It *is* quicker than a single 1.8Ghz processor, but only when the machine is busy doing lots of stuff at once.
