It's just pantomime stuff, really

I've never booed in my life, and never will - but it's so girlie it's not worth worrying about. It's not as though the atmosphere's poisonous, as it would be at many other clubs after getting on for 5 years of unremitting crap; but the fans need something to hold on and look forward to. And the loans don't help one bit in that regard: where are the players fans can connect with?

The team of even two seasons ago was quite likeable in many ways: Hucks, Earnie, Saf, Etuhu on his day, Crofty, Chris Martin emerging... even, for sheer lung-busting effort, Andy Hughes. We've had many, many mediocre campaigns over the years - but traditionally are at least unpredictable and carry an attacking threat. Apart from Croft, who do we have now in a similar vein?
