Roeder losing it
It strikes me that wt=hatever the rights or wrongs of appointing Glen Roeder, we should only go on his achievements since he has been here.
Last sseason he did a marvellous job to keep us up - I don't think that's in doubt.
Having done that fans were quite rightly expecting us to be up towards the top of the table.
The fact that we are not much better off than last season is a vast disappointment, but not as disappointing as the arrogant attitude of the manager where he refuses to accept any criticism and quite obviously doesn't understand the unique qualities of Norfolk people.
I do not subscribe to the view that we don't have money. We have money to pay for allegedly good quality loan signings. The fact is that the manager has picked the wrong players.
He has gone for reasonably big reputation, little ability players who have achieved nothing (apart from Lita's goals of course). Or have we just turned them into average players.
We seem to have an ability to bring good quality players to the club and destory them. Peter Thorne was useless at Carrow Road but now he's the top scorer in League Two. I know it's a lower standard of football but he also scored when he was with Cardiff.
So what do we do to these players. Where is the motivation.
Another point is what the hell are we doing with the Academy. Roeder raves about young players, signs them on deals and then they acarcely play a game because we have pulled out of the reserve league. How many games of football has somebody like Eagle played this season. Young players need match experience.
Above all it's the manager's attitude that has changed my views about him. Last season he seemed to be the right choice. This season there must be a gigantic question about this. Amnd all the time we are losing more and more time.
The match against Swansea was enjoyable had you not been a Canaries fan. I think the performance from Otsemobor was the worst display by a Norwich full back I have seen in 10 years. He was out of breath most of the time and positionally clueless, wandering around marking space and getting sliced up all the time.
Norwich played in stiff units - a stodgy defence, a midfield where we had the headless chicken Pattison and the totally ineffectual Fotheringham, and an attack - all playing separately. I can scarcely remember our full backs getting forward whereas Swansea did this at every opportunity.
It is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel as this team are either not good enough or don't give a ----.
