Depends on how you do it
In American Football, at all levels, video analysis and classroom study are crucial. I can't see why it wouldn't be something which would help in any sport. Players are more confident on the field when they know WHY they are being told to do or not to do something, rather than just following instructions.
On the other hand, yeah, you can do it in an arrogant way which will alienate you, especially when it isn't a common practice in football (although I think it should be).
