Probably easiest to just book from Brighton to Nottingham then - two ?3 tickets to London and then two ?10 tickets to Nottingham plus a one-day travelcard won't end up significantly cheaper.

I had planned to stay in Lincoln with a friend but she's out of town so I'll be going there and back in a day, I think. Drinks beforehand sounds good though.
