I committed a cardinal sin last night, and feel I must confess
I actually placed money on city to lose.
Shameful I know but let me explain?..
I?m a bit of a superstitious fan, I?ve always had routines, things to do before games etc etc recently though I?ve had no real routine.
So leading up to last night I was thinking of what I could change to change our fortunes (yes yes I know, its just how I am).
Thinking through my normal pre-match made me start to question a new habit I have of having a quid or so on first scorer/correct score.
I don?t think we?ve actually won when I?ve done that, so I pretty much decided to knock this habit (although it was providing some brief entertainment in some largely dull games).
However, It bought to mind and old superstition of mine where I would always predict a 2-0 defeat If asked for a prediction before the game.
This started in play off season I think, I predicted a defeat prior to one game (genuine prediction before a tough game) which we then won. This then became a ?thing? where it had to be done before each game.
Obviously over those decent seasons (certainly at home) it worked pretty well, but got dropped in the prem season.
So I decided I?d change my betting habits, and resurrect an old practice and combine the 2. Hence ?1 on Wolves 2-0.
So it wasn?t betting in the hope of collecting winnings, it was betting in the hope of collecting 3 points.
Clearly I will now be sacrificing a quid every game until it stops working.
