i see the subject has sort of been touched below

re fans who attend games.

but anyway, how true is it that fans who hardly attend find it easier to be less bothered about what's happening at the club, rolling out lines such as things will turn and we've just got to ride the storm. lovely old cliches. i think to a certain extent it's natural for these people to come to this way of thinking. after all, they're hardly investing any time or money in following the team around the country and seeing just how bad things are. all they're dealing with are statistics which are totally untangible. it makes perfect sense to be more affected actually seeing something happen, than hearing about it, along with a few numbers.

would be interested in any thoughts.
