ATTN: Old Git
Just for you I set up email on my iFoon yesterday, to see if it did what you wanted. It does, sort of.
If you have the right sort of email server[*] it will do true push email (that's where you never have to press the "get me my email" button), but if you don't have that right sort of email server, you can get it to simulate push-email behaviour by getting it to poll the server at regular intervals - the options are for polling every 15, 30 or 60 mins, which isn't brilliant, but better than nothing, imo.
Your chambers might well have the right sort of email server for true push-email - you mentioned that you use Outlook for email. If the mail server is Microsoft Exchange, then that's the right sort, as far as I'm aware.
And you thought this was going to be another "shame on you, talking about flids" post.
