Damned if the do, damned if they don't

Fans don't go and they're fickle, they all turn up and they're lemmings.

They haven't won a trophy in 40 seasons and there are 56,000 at St James Park for every league game. Whatever you think about the club, the fans are certainly not fickle and for their loyalty they deserve something in return (IMHO).

What's so wrong with them? Apart from way-aye-ing all over the place they're a decent lot as a rule. Not comparable to the worms that frequent Cardiff, Leeds, Millwall, Wolves, Sheff Wed etc etc.
