As someone who has quite a bit of digging in family records pre-1837

I wonder how many leaps they have had to make? Post-1837 and the compulsory registration of BMD data, things are relatively easy. The census (from 1841 onwards) makes it (generally!) a piece of piss. Prior to that, especially for the average unskilled worker, there is very little to go on, particularly where people shift parishes.

Bearing in mind I haven't seen the articles, of course.
