I thought the red card was a bit harsh

there doubtless might have been 'intent' but it wasn't obvious to me on any of the replays and I think the ref should need to be certain before issuing a red card (I suspect he might have been influenced by the sheer amount of blood).

They might easi;y have had someine sent off for a couple of yellow cards by then, though. They were pretty cynical.
