Haven't looked down the board so this may have been said before

but, unless Shax was injured then Worthy needs a brain transplant if he thinks Doherty is better than Shax. Doherty was complete rubbish today, but so what's new. He'sbeen rubbish virtually every tiome I've seen him and he's got to go. Asssuming he's fit, then Shax should be back on Tuesday and Charlton should make way for Jarrett. I was also deeply disappointed in Hughes although I really didn't expect much else. He's just a journeyman and we desperately need a creative player in midfield, and so we must hope that the rumours posted on here earlier in the week about Sidwell turn out to be true. Marney looked OK and Louis Jean might be OK as well.

We probably shouldn't get too upset as first day results are often a bit odd, see Palarse and Luton e.g. But we really have to take it to Crewe and Palarse and look for 3 points in each of those games before our away match on 20 August at Southampton.

Let's not worry too much, but this hasn't helped my general feeling of well being.
