Seems sensible to delay any announcement until after the transfer window has closed to avoid muddying the waters of any deal in progress or yet to be done.

The credit crunch is a weird thing - still all sorts of financial disasters coming out of the woodwork. Still, I'm not sure it has much to do with them leaving; but I haven't a clue why they would - just hoping it isn't symptomatic of a greater malaise
