Shackell, McCarthy and judgement
Sometimes transfers really have me bewildered and this is a fine example. Has McCarthy really watched Shackell on a regular basis? When you look at how dominant Stefanovich and Kennedy were on Saturday (and indeed Taylor for Brum) would you really put Shackell in the same company? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm absolutely bemused as to why any team in the Fizzy would want to buy him, especially a team with Premiership aspirations. He'll probably prove me wrong (and in a way I hope he does) but I've always thought him lightweight with poor distribution and he would be my second choice behind Docherty which says it all really.
