FAO London based Wrathers...
Dear all
Double header this weekend.
Old Red Lion, Islington, EC1: Friday 15th Aug from 21:45 onwards
So Friday night, as in tonight, I'll be gently prising the great and the good(ish) patrons of the Old Red Lion into their respective weekends. At some stage over the evening the ORL management may, or may not, unveil their new ORL pub sign (depends on whether Alice the pub sign artist has finished it/started it). And as a Brucie Bonus you may have the chance to fill your hands in spittle courtesy of Rollo the excellent pub dog.

Mucky Pup, Islington, N1: Sunday 17th from 18:30 onwards
Sunday evening sees me traversing the record box less than a mile down the road from the ORL to the Mucky Pup. Aside from their splendid Sunday roasts (as in food, not a Prem footballers favourite pass-time), you may wish to partake in the MP 'patented' Jagerbomber cocktail. Sup away to your heart's content whilst you luxuriate in deep aural pleasure/s at one of the best things you can do in London on a Sunday evening (The Guardian).

Over the course of the 2 nights you can expect to hear some or all of the following:
Kinks, Link Wray, Staples Singers, Ananda Shankar, XTC, Lou Reed, Serious Drinking, The Originals, Beirut, Chiffons, Nick Cave, Those Dancing Days, Nick Lowe, Squire, Harry Nillson, The Sabres of Paradise, Big Boss Man, Mark & the Mysterians, Louis XIV and shed loads more.
Nice
